AI SOFTWARE ENGINEER AT INTEL / PREVIOUSLY META

Intelligence, built
on solid ground.

I’m Xiaxuan — you can call me Andy.
I build AI agents and the systems that make them dependable.

Local intelligence. Cloud possibility.

At Intel, I build a hybrid AI agent harness that connects private local processing with cloud-model reasoning.

SELECTED EXPERIENCE

Built for the real world.
Measured by what changes.

From a critical migration to full-time ownership at Meta.
Now, bringing that systems mindset to AI at Intel.

Making complex
systems feel simple.

Returned to Meta full-time to unify Cold and Warm Storage orchestration. I built rule-driven control-plane tooling with safer automated decisions, clear safeguards, and observable rollouts.

A redesigned I/O QoS configuration path made operational changes faster. AI-assisted on-call tooling brought the same focus on clarity to incident response.

The migration
that moved things forward.

I owned a critical storage metadata service migration from a relational database to NoSQL, removing a circular dependency between teams and delivering one month early.

Data transformation, parallel validation, canary rollouts, discrepancy monitoring, and scale testing helped make the transition safe. The work earned a Greatly Exceeded (GE) performance rating.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE SYSTEMS

Curious by nature.
Thoughtful by practice.

I like the space between a promising idea and something people can actually depend on. That’s taken me from distributed storage and service migrations to AI agents.

I care about clear abstractions, thoughtful trade-offs, and the details that make a system easier to understand — especially when it matters most.

Interesting engineering problems, thoughtful teams,
or simply a shared curiosity. I’d love to hear about it.
